On the day of March 14, 2017, the sun set for Sergio E. Granado Sr. ; dying from a heart attack and liver complications at the age of 58. The sun rose for Sergio, known as “Papito” by friends and family, on September 9th, 1958 in Santa Clara, Cuba. Sergio moved to New Orleans from an early age in order to escape the communist regime of Cuba; having New Orleans become his new home for 47 years. Sergio was loved by all who met him and lived a fruitful life. Sergio is survived by his mother & father, Martha Granado & Emiliano Granado. Sergio was survived by his two siblings: Vivian and Angel Granado, his four children; Anita, Angelica, Sergio Jr. , and Ayme Granado; as well as eleven grandchildren, 3 nephews, and 2 nieces. The funeral will be taking place at Greenwood Funeral Home located at 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans LA. On Wednesday, March 22, 2017 The viewing will be from 9-11 am, shortly followed by the burial at Greenwood Mausoleum.
