Gathy Ebarb Howell was called home by our Heavenly Father on June 30, 2017 at the age of 94. Gathy was born in Zwolle, LA on May 10, 1923; living most of her adult life in Laurinburg, NC. The last four years she was living in New Orleans with her sister Annie Grace Ebarb Krummel and her family. Gathy was preceded in death by her husband Donald Howell, her parents Lupe and Lena Ebarb, her sister Artie Mae Sepulvedo, her brother Joseph Clyde Ebarb, her uncle Manuel Garcia and her aunt Annie who helped raise Gathy and her siblings after the death of her parents. Gathy is survived by her sister Annie Ebarb Krummel and many nieces and nephews and lifelong friend Betty Gordy of Lauringburg, NC.
Our family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Beverly Greenwood and the entire staff at Lafon Nursing Home, with a special thanks you to Mrs. Jefferson and Sister Valerie for their compassion and prayers, along with Heart of Hospice. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Frankie Rhinefield of Maxton, NC, she was a God sent friend to Gathy for many years , always looking after her while living in Laurinburg, NC.
The relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
