Welcome to the memorial page for

Edith Mae Schaff

March 6, 1925 ~ November 5, 2017 (age 92)
Edith Mae Nichols Schaff, age 92, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 in Enterprise, AL. Mrs. Schaff was the wife of the late Valentine Adam Schaff III, who passed away 14 years prior, just before their 47th wedding anniversary.
Known as Nicki or Edie to her family and friends, she was born in Whitehall, WI, the youngest daughter of the late Scott B. Nichols and Myrtle G. Anderson. She was predeceased by her three sisters: Margaret Brown, Betty Nichols, Marwood Mays, and one brother, Robert Nichols. She is survived by her three children, Suzanne M. Clark (David), Valentine A. Schaff IV (Joni) and John N. Schaff (Kristi); her grandchildren, Rebekah McNary (James), Benjamin Clark, Valentine Adam Schaff V, Victoria Schaff, and Emily Schaff; her step-grandchild, Baylee McKinnon; and two great-grandchildren, Rachael and Jamie McNary; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a long-time resident of New Orleans, LA and Mandeville, LA. During the last few years of her life, she moved to Enterprise, AL to be closer to family due to declining health related to the march of time and advanced dementia. She was always happiest anytime she was staying on Long Lake in Wisconsin, where she also spent her summer vacations as a child while visiting her grandfather, the honorable H.A. Anderson. When not keeping her house sparkling clean, she enjoyed parties, holidays and gatherings with friends and relatives, typically celebrating with a glass of vodka on the rocks with a twist of lemon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd. in New Orleans on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 12:00 noon. A prayer service will be said at 2:00 pm followed by a short Committal Service at the Greenwood Mausoleum.
