Doris Carroll Marchal, age 88, entered eternal life on Sunday, December 10, 2017. Married for 53 years to the love of her life, Doris is preceded in death by Emmett John Marchal, her children Gary John Marchal (Colene), Judy Carol Bealer and James Michael Marchal (Karen), her siblings Lorraine Guelfo, and Charles Ray Carroll. Survived by her children Ronald James Marchal and Lisa Marie Ohler (Bruce), her siblings Frank Ernest Carroll, Jr. (Aline), and Ann Carroll Donze (Donald). An adored grandmother she will be sorely missed by Sandi Marchal, Erin Marchal Cook, (Gary and Lou), Kristin, Michael and Brandon (James and Karen); five great grandchildren, Sarah Ogden, Jason, Jesse and Jarrett Cook, and Justin Ohler (Lisa).
Doris’ home was always open to family and friends, everyone was always made to feel comfortable and welcomed, even stray animals found a home with Doris. One of the many ways she blessed others was to feed them, she was a fabulous cook and everyone clamored for her jambalaya, chili at Mardi Gras and her Oyster Patties were legendary. For decades when she wasn’t raising her family she and Emmett could be found dancing the night away at the Jefferson Orleans. Her passing will leave a void in our hearts but we are comforted knowing she is home with the Lord and her Emmett.
The relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00. Visitation from 9:00 until 11:00. Interment to follow in Greenwood Mausoleum. The family invites you to share your thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online, at www.greenwoodfh.com.
