Charles John “Chuck” Haase, Jr., was born April 8, 1928 and passed away on January 17, 2018, at the age of 89. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Alzina Manshardt Haase; one daughter, Diana Haase Meyers (Michael); two sons, Charles J. Haase, III (Tanya) and Michael A. Haase (Millie Baudier); and four grandchildren, Matthew Meyers (Jennifer Holman), Jenny Meyers (Gabby), Charles Haase IV and Jackson Haase. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles J. Haase, Sr. and Irene McWhirter Haase.
Chuck was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Army Airforce as a 1st Sergeant. He retired from Scottco Tool and Manufacturing Company after 50 years. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America for 50 years serving as a Scout Master and various other positions and earned the Silver Beaver Award and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow as a Vigil Honor Member. He loved fishing, bowling, playing poker and telling jokes.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Ormond Nursing and Care Center for their care and support.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Anna’s Episcopal Church, 1313 Esplanade Ave., New Orleans, on Saturday, January 20, 2017, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in Greenwood Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to St. Anna’s Episcopal Church or Anna’s Place NOLA.
