Beatrice Guarneri Pomes (Bea Bea), aged 88 years, passed away peacefully at East Jefferson General Hospital on June 25th, 2017, surrounded by her family. Wife of the late Richard H. Pomes. Daughter of the late Niccola Guarneri and the late Josephine Alonzo. Sister to Nick Guarneri (Liz), Sam Guarneri (Bonnie), Josephine Earhart, the late Thomas Guarneri and the late Virginia Gaudin. Beatrice was the proud mother to Richard H. Pomes, Jr. (deceased), Richard G. Pomes, Nick J. Pomes (Michele), and Michael H. Pomes. She was a loving grandmother to Cali Pomes Passons (Joshua), Michael J. Pomes, Richard A. Pomes, Ross G. Pomes, Selena Pomes, Jonathan White (Kenni), and Tammy Richards (Ed). Great grandmother to Carter Pomes, Brianna Richards, Ainsley White and Maisy White.
   Beatrice worked hard for her family as a telephone operator with Freeport McMoran and as a mutual clerk with the New Orleans Fair Grounds. She had a passion for gardening and cooking for her family. She continued that passion while assisting her son Richard in his restaurant ventures. Later in life, she enjoyed playing cards with her friends during their weekly games at Cello’s. Beatrice was a truly selfless person who never shied away from helping others and kept her family close throughout her life.
   Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at 11:00 am on Friday, June 30th, 2017 at the Greenwood Funeral Home at 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans.
