Wilma Geary Franchina passed away at home on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Leon Franchina. Mother of Lee Modenbach (Charles Modenbach, III), Lynn Lewis (Barry Steven Lewis) and Lori Simoneaux (Douglas Simoneaux, Jr.). Daughter of the late William Geary and Lillian W. Geary. Sister of Winnie Flaig and the late Wilbur Geary and William Geary, Jr. Grandmother of Jeffrey Modenbach (Alicia Modenbach), Daniel Modenbach, Bradley Modenbach (Amy Modenbach), Jillian Harris (Matthew Harris), William Lewis (Krislyn Branford), Lauren Simoneaux and Douglas Simoneaux, III. Great Grandmother of Aaron and Trevor Lewis, Brinley Harris, and Jude Modenbach.
Mrs. Franchina graduated from John McDonogh High School. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Rita of Harahan Parish and was a member of the Silver Trotters. Mrs. Franchina was a retired Credit Manager for Standard Coffee.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, on Thursday, November 9, 2017, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass in the Chapel at 1:00 PM.
