Verda Mae Lobell Hezeau passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, May 30, 2022, at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert F. Hezeau, Jr.; parents, Louis Zachary Lobell and Celestine Mary Brignac Lobell, brothers, John “Jack”, Louis Jr., Melvin, Robert and Percy Lobell; sisters, Irene Lobell Berthelot, Marie Elaine Jones and Edna Mae Lobell; sons, Albert F. Hezeau III and John N. Hezeau. Mrs. Hezeau is survived by her daughter, Marilyn H. Foucheaux (Joseph); daughter-in-laws, Jacquelyn Hezeau and Sandy Meyer; grandchildren, Cherie Sims (Gary), Albert F. Hezeau IV (Amber), Christopher Foucheaux (Jennifer), Michelle F. Jeansonne (John) and Christina Hezeau; and great-grandchildren, Gary and Tyler Sims, Ethan Foucheaux, Hailey and Brandon Hezeau, and Brennan and Madeline Jeansonne. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Verda was born on December 29, 1928 in French Settlement, LA, where she was blessed with a large and loving family. She later moved to New Orleans, where she was married, and raised her family in Gentilly Terrace before retiring in Slidell, LA. She enjoyed the peaceful life of the Northshore along with gardening, playing cards, and cooking. Her family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses, therapists, and staff of Family HomeCare for their care and compassion.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Ann Church & Shrine, 3601 Transcontinental Drive, Metairie, LA, on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 12:00 PM.
