We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Greenwood Funeral Home
Thomas “Tommy” Richard Keller, Jr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31st, 2022 in Metairie, LA at the age of 63 after a 5 year battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was the beloved son of Rose Keller and the late Thomas Richard Keller, Sr., and loving brother of Colleen Cloninger (Tommy), Troy Keller (Arlea) and the late Timothy Keller. He was survived by his devoted wife Patty Mayeux, of 40 years, his daughters Lauren Russo (Daniel) and Erin Haney (Grant). He was also “PawPaw” to Eli Russo, Jude Russo, Logan Haney and Emmett Haney.
Tommy was born in Metairie, LA on July 21st, 1958. He was a proud Jesuit Bluejay before attending the University of Louisiana Lafayette, where he met the love of his life, Patty. He then moved back to his hometown and graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science degree. He and Patty would have been married 41 years on July 31st. Tommy was a Jack of all trades but didn’t find his true calling until he started his construction company after Hurricane Katrina. He then combined his passion for helping those in need with his expertise in construction to build Step-N-Shower, which specializes in home modifications for the disabled.
He had a bigger than life personality and knew no strangers. If anyone needed something he was there at the drop of a hat. He was loyal to a fault and would give you the shirt off his back. His favorite pastimes were bragging about his alma mater, fishing, baseball, and working on Patty’s Honey-Do list. His family was his greatest accomplishment and spending time with his grandkids was his greatest joy. His unconditional love and kindness will never be forgotten, and his legacy will live on forever through his adoring family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his name to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (themmrf.org)
