Shirley Jean Bisesi Holtsclaw

Shirley Jean Bisesi Holtsclaw, born in Washington, D.C. on August 30, 1948, passed away peacefully with her family present in League City, Texas on September 14,2021. She was 73 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan B. Holtsclaw, Jr; parents, Doris Heaster Bisesi and Domenic Bisesi; sister, Janet Mahl; brother, Silvio Bisesi; and nephew, Vincent Bisesi. She is survived by her three children, Orele Fisher (John), Cher Jeffrey (Brian), and Harry Decossas, Jr. (Heidi); seven grandchildren, Peyton Hughes (Zachary), Jarod Fisher, Nicholas Jeffrey, Emily Jeffrey, Hayden Decossas, Sophie Decossas, and Liam Decossas; one great grandson, Dean Hughes; numerous nieces and nephews; and three stepchildren, Devon Anderson, David Holtsclaw, Danny Holtsclaw and their families. Mrs. Holtsclaw worked for over 20 years at Dillard’s. While working there, she made wrapping birthday gifts and Christmas presents an art form. She was an avid bowler for most of her life. She also enjoyed watching and feeding the squirrels that would visit her in her yard. Her biggest joy in her life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandson. She was extremely proud of all of them.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, on Monday September 27, 2021, starting at 9:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in the chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Due to COVID 19 regulations, please follow the current restrictions and everyone attending is required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing.
