RUBYE DeLOACH SCHEURICH, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on November 5, 2017 at the age of 94. Rubye was born December 17, 1922 in Baxley, Ga. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Valentine Kropp Scheurich, Jr and her oldest son Valentine Kropp Scheurich, III. She is survived by her sons James Steward Scheurich and his wife Anne, of New Orleans, La, and Jon Scott Scheurich and his wife Darnell of Metairie, La. and by her grandchildren James Jr., Christopher, Joanna, Scott, Dylan, Max, and Valentine IV. And by her great grandchild, Alura Clare. Her life was celebrated at a private ceremony on November 12, 2017 in New Orleans. It was her request that her family have a small gathering “to celebrate all the good times, for there were many!” Rubye was one of ten children born to Steward Lester DeLoach, Sr. and Jimmie Moody DeLoach. Preceding her in death were siblings Harry Moreland DeLoach, Janie Lorraine White, and S,L, DeLoach, Jr. She is survived by siblings, James Boyd DeLoach, Sarah Jeanette Williams, Mary Alice Lee, Robert Richard DeLoach, Arthur Franklin DeLoach, and Jimmie Carlton DeLoach.
Rubye was the most wonderful and loving Mother. Everyone who crossed her path was influenced by her kindness and grace. Always a lady and always active until the time of her death. She will be missed by all those who know and loved her.
