Roy Joseph Kreger

On Saturday, March 11, 2023, Roy Kreger, Sr, age 81, resident of Irish Bayou of New Orleans,
LA was called to our Lord. He was born in New Orleans on August 1, 1941, to Angelina Savarino Kreger and Rudolph Kreger, Sr.

He spent his entire life on the water, starting at the camps on Haynes Blvd., then made his way to Irish Bayou, where he lived out the rest of his life as a Commercial Fisherman.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Kreger of 47 years, along with his siblings: Ronald Kreger, Rosemary Sciortino, Rhoda Faget, Regina Karsolich, Robert Kreger, and Rudolph Kreger, Jr., his son Roy Kreger, Jr., and grandson Andrew Chanson.

He is survived by his sister, Ruth Williamson; his children: Melissa Lyncker-Uhlich (Gottfried “Junior”), Robert Kreger (Tori), Eddie Crochet (Sandy), Suzette Roberts; grandchildren: Lissa Lyncker, Will Lyncker, Jacob Lyncker, Kaila Sinclair, Brittany Newton, Payton Kreger, Ryleigh Kreger, Brayde Kreger, Callie Kreger, Cassie Kreger, Amber Chanson, Cami Roberts, Casey Roberts, and 13 great-grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, March 25, 2023, starting at 9:00 AM, followed by a Blessing in Chapel at 11:00 AM.
