Rose Tortorice Delaney went to Heaven on Wednesday December 16, 2020 at the age of 91 and is joined by her beloved husband the late Jack Delaney. Rose was born in Independence, La on January 20, 1929. She graduated from Independence High in 1947 and lived in Metairie most of her life. She worked for D.H. Holmes Credit Department in her early years followed by Maison Blanche and Dillards. Rose was a loving and wonderful mother to Roseann Delaney and Diane Delaney Rousselle and son-in-law John. She is preceded in death by her parents Tony and Rose Tortorice. She is the sister of the late Josie Tortorice Ingrassia, Mary Tortorice Amato, Frank Tortorice and Joe Tortorice. She is survived by her sister Carmella Tortorice Barbier, and also numerous nieces and nephews. Rose will be dearly missed by her two grandchildren Dana Rousselle and Matthew Rousselle and two great-grandchildren Joshua and Gianna. She always had a smile on her face and had a generous spirit wanting to help others. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Ann Church and Shrine. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 with visitation from noon until 1 p.m. followed by a Mass. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance is limited to 50 people and all attendees must wear face masks for the duration of the visit.
