October 2, 1956 ~ January 26, 2024 (age 67) 67 Years Old

Tribute

On January 26, 2024, Rosary “Rose” Bezou Bradford succumbed to a brief illness at age 67 while lovingly attended by her husband Wilson “Bill” Emery Bradford, III, her daughter Melanie Martinez Schayot, in a room filled with family and loved ones. Rose is the tenth child of the late Marie Theard Moses Bezou and George Marc Bezou, Sr. She was predeceased by her brother Charles H. Bezou and her sister Carol B. Wahler (Paul.)

Rose leaves her husband Bill, a close companion for 17 years, recently joined in matrimony on November 11, 2023. She leaves her daughter Melanie and two grandchildren, Penelope Rose Schayot and Elliot Louis Schayot; two brothers, G. Marc “Mark” Bezou, Jr., and John E. Bezou, Sr. (Michelle); five sisters, Lydia Bezou-Hojnacki, Frances B. Gervais, Barbara B. Manix (Sidney), Elizabeth “Betsy” B. Falk (Daniel), Patricia B. Bennett. Rose is survived by over 20 nieces and nephews, many grand-nieces and nephews, as well as several first cousins of the Bezou and Crist families.

Rose was well known for her beautiful mezzo-soprano voice, from her performance days at J F Kennedy High School through the many years when she was a well respected member of the Symphony Chorus of New Orleans. She sang in many church choirs and served as cantor for St. Stephen Catholic Church.

Mrs. Bradford (Rose) worked tirelessly as a real estate agent throughout the city, a life-long passion of hers. This was preceded by a long career with AT&T, working for The Yellow Pages dba The Berry Company. Family gatherings hosted by Rose were always well attended and lively with games, abundant good food, and great people. Her smile, welcoming demeanor, and cheery attitude will be missed by many coworkers, neighbors, friends, and family.

Rest in peace, Dear Rose.
