Rosalind Seifert Carstens passed away on Saturday July 9, 2022 at the age of 93. She was born in New Orleans on April 17, 1929. Daughter of the late Charles J. Seifert of Plaquemines, LA and Edwina Ducote Seifert of Mansura, La. She was predeceased by her two brothers Charles J. Seifert, Jr. and Raymond Seifert. She is survived by her best friend and sister-in-law, Noemi, wife of Raymond Seifert and their 3 daughters Lydia S. Docompo, Lorraine S. Landry, and Lynne S. Donlon. Rosalind’s beloved husband was the late Donald H. Carstens of New Orleans. Rosalind and Donald were devoted to each other and had a most extraordinary marriage and partnership. They were the devoted parents of 4 children, Warren James Carstens (deceased), Kevin Carstens Verlander (Richard), Donna Carstens Ricaud (Andrew) and J. Scott Carstens (deceased) (Sharon). Rosalind was also the doting grandmother of Jason C. Harris, Stephanie M. Ricaud (deceased), Laura H. Matherne, Andre R. Torres, Matthew D. Harris, and Liza H. Love. Torres, Andrew S. Torres, and Judd M. Love. Rosalind’s greatest pleasure in life was to be surrounded by her family and friends. There were never too many family members and close friends included in any family gathering. Everyone was made welcome. Mansura, Louisiana, her mother’s hometown, had a special place in her and Donald’s heart. They spent almost all of their leisure time at the “camp” they built on their property there. The friends they made there became the closest of life long friends. The friendship of the Chatelaine family of Mansura has been a continued blessing to her throughout her long life. She loved everyone and never met a stranger. The family would like to thank all of the devoted staff at Colonial Oaks Living Center for their love, kindness, and caring attention during her stay at the facility. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at 11:30 am on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
