Richard Gerrard Ray

Richard Gerrard Ray, 75, died on Tuesday May 31, 2022 after a courageous fight against lymphoma. He was born October 30, 1946 to parents Martin G Ray and Anna Ray Cuny. Mr. Ray was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and resided in Metairie, Louisiana. After many years serving in the United States Navy, he retired to work in the service industry, working as a cab driver and a bartender. Preceded in death by his parents, Martin G Ray and Anna Ray Cuny, step-father, Norris Cuny, and sister, Dorothy P O’Shello. Survived by his brother, Bernard Ray, brother-in-law Micheal O’Shello, niece and nephew, Donna (Donald) Cagle and Richard (Heidi) Ford, and great nieces and great nephews. Loved ones are invited to attend the visitation on June 11, 2022 at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, from 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Masonic Cemetery.
