Richard J. Hamilton II

Richard J. Hamilton II “Dickey", age 68, passed away at his home on November 3, 2018 after a long, courageous battle against cancer. Richard was born on August 13, 1950 in New Orleans to Richard and Bernice Hamilton. Richard was a successful business owner of Hamiltonland Services. He was known for his huge heart and larger than life, fun-loving personality.  He loved his family and his city, and he had a passion for helping those in need. Richard will be dearly missed by his children, son Richard J. Hamilton III and his wife, Carroll and daughter Sarah Hamilton Schlessman and her husband, Bubba; grandchildren, Richard IV, Josephine, and Olivia; partner, Joni; siblings, Joan, Robert, Randall, and Kelly; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, on Saturday, November 10, 2018, starting at 9:30 am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Richard’s life. The family would like to thank all family, friends, and caregivers for their care and support.
