Hogan; loving father of Kerry Hogan and Maureen Hogan Varney (Bill); cherished grandfather of Jill, Kim, and Michael Varney; son of the late Mary Tonguis Hogan and Benjamin Ambrose Hogan, Sr., he was preceded in death by his 9 brothers and sisters; Mary Rita H. He will be missed fiercely and remembered fondly.

Ralph was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School (class of 1942). He proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, Nov. 1943 – Nov. 1945, and was trained as a waist gunner on the B-17. In World War II, on his 19th mission the plane was shot down, forcing the crew to parachute out. He was captured and held by the Germans for ten days until the British freed the town near the end of the war. Staff Sgt. Hogan was awarded the Air Medal, POW Medal, and Battle Ribbons with oak clusters.

For 35 years Ralph was an award-winning pharmaceuticals salesman with Sandoz/Dorsey, after which he retired to enjoy golf, card games, socializing with family and friends, and world travel. He always had a ready smile, a positive outlook, and a genuine interest in others.
