Tribute

Peter Lucien Rezza passed away on Saturday morning, the 4th of April at East Jefferson Hospital from various illnesses. He was 68 years old.

A native New Orleanian, he was born on October 20, 1952, to his late beloved parents, Peter and Angelina Rezza. One of three brothers, he is survived by his son Michael and his younger brother Martin and his wife Ana. His older brother Nicholas has already gone to his heavenly reward, as has the young child of Nicholas and Karen Rezza.

He was the beloved godfather of Michelle Roop, and will be missed by her children Emily and James Roop as well as her husband James (Jimbo) Roop.

Peter lived most of his life in St. Bernard Parish and graduated from Chalmette High School in 1971. He went on to have a long career in banking working for Whitney National Bank.

He was a beloved friend to Ricky Cortes, Johnny Robertson, and Bill Lee who remained his loyal friends through the years of illness he experienced later in life.

Peter was known everyone he ever met as a funny and personable man. He loved music and had an encyclopedic knowledge of the music that he loved from growing up in the 1960’s and 1970’s. He was an avid film lover and shared his massive collection of music and film with anyone that he came to know.
