Patricia Melancon Schick

Patricia Melancon Schick entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at the age of 80. She was born to the late Claude J. Melancon and Flora Mary Dupuy Melancon on October 6, 1940.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Melvin Edward Schick.
Patricia was the loving mother of Laura Schick O’Brien (Mario Zeron), Joseph E. Schick (Suzanne), Claude H. Schick (Kelly), and Melvin C. Schick. She is survived by her 9 grandchildren Michael Vaughn (Aimee), Zachary Cantrell (Kristen), Rebecca Lisgo (Anthony), Claude E. Schick (Hannah), Gabrielle Glass (Kevin), Carolynn Schick (Austin), Caitlyn Schick, Madison Schick, and John Ferrer. She is also survived by her 9 Great Grandchildren: Avery, Zach, Caedyn, Luke, Charley, Braelynn, Camille, Elijah, and Reese. She is also survived by her nephew Joseph A. Schick (Libby) and her niece Kristin Sparks (Tim).

Patricia was a devoted mother and wife. She graduated from St. Stephen’s High School. She worked for Barker’s, K-Mart, and Winn-Dixie as a manager until retirement. She had a love for music and dancing, attending many dances with her husband. She enjoyed going on frequent bus trips with her friends to the casinos on the gulf coast. She also enjoyed shopping with her daughter and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral mass in the chapel at 1:00 PM. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
