Ovidio C. Gonzalez, born August 26, 1936 in Camuy, Puerto Rico, and a long-time resident of Kenner La., was called home by our Lord on Friday March 9, 2018 to begin his eternal life in heaven and reunite with his loving parents, Confessor and Ana Gonzalez and his beloved mother in law, America Ortiz.
He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother in law, uncle, cousin and friend. He proudly served 20 plus years in the United Stated Air Force and retired after 15 years from Pan-American Airlines. He is survived and loved by his cherished wife and best friend of 56 years Luz Gonzalez, his devoted daughter Anna Everett, his much-loved granddaughter Chelsea Everett, his loving cousins Rose Arocho, Lydia Cruz and Isabell Patterson, his cherished brother and sister in laws Manuel and Martie Ortiz, Hector and Gail Gracia as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
His life was fueled by love for his family and friends. He will be remembered most for his loyalty, quick wit, hard work and unconditional love for all those fortunate enough to know him. He will live on forever through the fond memories he left imprinted on those who knew and loved him. Visitation will take place at Greenwood Cemetery 5200 Canal Blvd Monday March 19, 10:00 – 11:00 for family, 11:00 – 1:00 for everyone. Mass will begin at 1:00, followed by funeral with military honors.
