Noel Robert “Mack” McCarthy passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020, at the age of 81. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Kenner, LA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie McCarthy; his parents, Malvina James McCarthy and Dennis S. McCarthy; his brother, Dennis McCarthy, and his stepson, John Baber. Mack is survived by his daughters, Cathy McCarthy and her son, Darian Favalora and Donna Higginbotham; three sons, Gary Lamkin, Terry Lamkin and Jerry Lamkin; his stepson, Danny Baber; his stepdaughter, Lori Rajo; and his brother, Paul McCarthy. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. McCarthy was a graduate of Warren Easton High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air National Guard. Mack was a Salesman and Manager of Barry’s Manufacturing Men’s Store. He often referred to himself as a “self-proclaimed movie historian” because of his love and knowledge of movies.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service at Greenwood Cemetery, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, https://www.redcross.org/ or Louisiana SPCA, https://www.louisianaspca.org/. Due to COVID 19 regulations, please follow the current restrictions and everyone attending is required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing.
