Nathan F. Simoneaux, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the age of 91. Beloved husband of 70 years to Audrey L. Simoneaux. Father of Deacon Nathan F. Simoneaux, Jr. (Linda) and Linda Simoneaux Speed (Byron). Grandfather of Nicholas P. Simoneaux (Stephanie), Clint M. Simoneaux (Stephanie), Shane A. Simoneaux (Valerie), Christopher L. Speed (Priscilla) and Stephanie S. Melan (Bryan). Great grandfather of Maddox, Zachary, Rex, Tucker, Emma, Knox, Tyler, Madelyn and Audrey. Brother of James P. Simoneaux, Fannie J. Simoneaux and the late Stephen B. Simoneaux. Son of the late James J. Simoneaux and Stephanie G. Simoneaux. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Simoneaux proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from NOPSI after 35 years of service. Nathan was a devoted parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and bowler.
Our family would like to thank Marsha Johnson for taking such great care of her “Buddy”. Her kindness and caring was very loving and comforting during his illness.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Saint Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 10021 Jefferson Hwy, River Ridge, on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, starting at 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass at 12:30 PM. A private burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred or memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, St. Matthew Building Fund or the charity of your choice.
