Margaret Ann Graner Broussard entered peacefully into heaven on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at the age of 83. Margaret was born on July 28, 1937, to William Joseph Graner and Inez Boudreaux Graner. Margaret grew up in the Carrollton area of New Orleans and resided in Harahan for the past 57 years. After raising her 5 children, Margaret began her career of serving Jefferson Parish and the City of Harahan, having served as Director of the Harahan Senior Center, Harahan City Clerk and Tax Collector, and Personal Secretary to the former 2nd District Councilman of Jefferson Parish, Paul Johnston. She was an avid painter and enjoyed arts and crafts. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her world, her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was loved, loved immensely, and will be missed by many family, friends, and colleagues. Her passing has left a void that will never be filled. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Edward James Broussard. The loving mother of her five children, Edward James Broussard, Jr. (Ella), Robin Constant (Timothy), Mark Broussard (Dawn), Renee’ Oatis (Kevin), and Rebecca Harmann (Geoffrey). She is also survived by her brothers, William J. Graner, Jr. (Marilyn) and Paul A. Graner (Darlene Olivier), and sisters-in-law Mary Louise Broussard Foss and Lynne H. Graner. She was the proud “Mimi” to her 11 grandchildren: Ryan Oatis, Edward J. Broussard III, Rachel Roberts, Courtney Constant Bowlin (Christopher), Clayton Constant, Adam Broussard, Ashleigh Oatis, Lauren Broussard, Joseph Broussard, Raegan Harmann and Lillian Harmann. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Inez Graner, in-laws Edward and Lillian Broussard, and brother Thomas J. Graner. Relatives and friends are invited to attend services on Monday, February 22, 2021, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 6425 West Metairie Avenue, Metairie, LA 70003. Visitation will take place from 10:00am-12:00pm, with mass to follow at noon. Burial will take place following mass at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. Funeral services are being coordinated by Greenwood Funeral Home, www.greenwoodfh.com . In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred, or a donation can be made in her honor to St. Mary Magdalen Church, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, or the American Heart Association. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, facemasks are required to attend services.
