Lucy Mae Cantelli

Lucy Mae Coreil Cantelli died April 14, 2022, at the age of 94. She was a native of New Orleans, moving to Opelousas after Katrina. However, she left her heart in New Orleans, one of her favorite songs being “Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans”.
Lucy Mae was a beloved Kindergarten teacher, expert flower arranger, dedicated Garden Club member, and talented decorator. She loved traveling the world with her husband of 53 years, Wilfred Roy Cantelli.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Roy Cantelli and her parents,Jules Otis and Bernice Coreil.

She is survived by her daughter, Karren Ryder and husband David; her granddaughters, Tatman Savio and husband Phillip, and Coreil Dickinson and husband Charles; 5 great grandchildren, Ryder and Rivera Savio, and Jules, James, and Ward Dickinson. Her sisters, Sister Bernice Coreil and Ruth Gilly as well as nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
