Louis Joseph Engolia Jr, passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 94 , surrounded by his family and Sister Angeles with Sisters Servants of Mary on December 17, 2020. Louis was a beloved husband of Joycelyn Sansone Engolia, short of their 72nd Wedding Anniversary.
Preceded in death by his parents Louis J Engolia Sr. and Florence DiVincenti Engolia. Brothers Anthony and Salvadore Engolia Sr. and sister Anne Puglise. Loving father to Louis III and Joanne Engolia and the late Sandra Ann Engolia Wach also raising two of his grandchildren as his own, Suzanne and Joseph Engolia also grandfather to Amanda Jeansonne, Louis Engolia IV, Dawn Miller Burkes, Nicole Wach, Sean Engolia, George Wach Jr. also survived by 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, nieces, nephews and beloved sister in law Melvina Mohr.
Proudly serving in the U.S. Army during WWII landing in Manila, Philippines. He received many honors including a bronze star. Before going to the War, he helped build the Higgins Landing boats. After returning home from the War he was an employee of Owens-Illinois Glass Company in New Orleans retiring after many years of service.
The family would like to express gratitude to the nurses and staff of Heritage Hospice and the Sisters Servants of Mary for their care and compassion during his illness.
