Louis Frank Costa, 84, of Metairie, LA passed away on August 22, 2021. Lou was born in New Orleans, LA on June 16, 1937 to Angelina and Ruffin Costa. He married Rose “Shorty” Vivian Varuso on April 15, 1956, with whom he raised two daughters.
Lou served in the US Air Force in the 1960’s. After completing his military service, he worked as a crane operator, foreman, and safety representative for Kaiser Aluminum in Chalmette, LA.
Lou enjoyed Louisiana sportsman’s activities-fishing, shrimping, boating, watching the Saints and patronizing Boom Town Casino. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his two daughters Vicky Ann Tubre (Charles) and Vivian Costa; grandchildren Craig Tubre, Jr (Darcy), Brian Tubre (Kristin), Matthew Tubre (Stacey), and Kelly Barrios (William); great grandchildren Tarah Tubre, Micah Tubre, Kayla Lamkin, Alexus Tubre, Brooke Barrios, Silas Warecke, Evelyn Tubre, Skylar Warecke; great-great grandchild Asher Tubre; fur children Smokey and The “Bandit” whom were all dearly loved.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rose and his sister Francis.
Family and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am and continue until Mass time. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001.
