Louis Alexander Cefolia
July 14, 1946 ~ May 19, 2023 (age 76) 76 Years Old
Louis Alexander Cefolia, age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 19, 2023, in Delray Beach, Florida. Louis was born on July 17, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to parents, Pauline Dupuy Cefolia and Ferdinand Joseph Cefolia. Louis attended St. Stephen Catholic School and De La Salle High School in New Orleans and graduated with a Masters of Public Administration at Florida International University. Louis (Wali) worked for more than 40 years in the land surveying industry and worked with the Florida Department of Transportation as a Public Land Surveyor, in Ft Lauderdale 20 years.
Louis, Lou, Wali; had many names and lived many different lives, from a free spirit in the late 1960’s to a professional in the 2010’s, he was sculptor and artisan, insurance salesman, coffee purveyor, land survey crew chief and business owner and public manager. What he brought to every job was a positive energy, sharp wit, wry sense of irony, and love of life and of the people close to him. What really defined Louis was his close connection to his family; he loved spending time with grandchildren, coming home for Mardi Gras, and passing a good time whenever possible. Louis had a wonderful sense of humor, irony with just a touch of teasing. He had a playful spirit and love for life and the people close to him. He was a beautiful soul and a blessing to all of us who were lucky enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ferdinand Joseph Cefolia, his mother, Pauline Dupuy Cefolia and his son, Jacob Waite Cefolia. Louis is survived by his son Louis Alexander Cefolia, Jr. (Michelle), his daughter Genevieve Cefolia Horan, sisters, Kathleen Miller and Patricia Marcomb (Ron Duhe), brother Paul Cefolia, former wife Karen Waite, Nieces Molly Miller, Aimee Miller, nephews Ryan Marcomb (Madison), and Nicholas Cefolia along with grandchildren Ashley Horan, Becky Horan (Hector), Cassidy Cefolia, Trent Cefolia, and Madisyn Audette.
