Lloyd “Captain” Maestri passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at the age of 91. Beloved brother of Hilda Maestri and the late Robert Maestri (Gladys), Marion Maestri and Mildred Bertram (Jerry). Loving uncle of Cheryl Bertram and Jan Bell (Patrick). Son of the late Ralph Maestri and Theresa Groppi Maestri. Capt. is also survived by many loyal and dear friends and former colleagues.
He was a retired Captain from the New Orleans Police Department and a former employee of Buck Kreihs Marine Repair. Lloyd was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and attended Hiens College. As a veteran of the United States Navy and United States Army, Mr. Maestri served his country proudly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Mass in the Chapel at 1:00 PM. A private inurnment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery #3.
