Lloyd Melvin Damonte Jr.

Lloyd Melvin Damonte Jr. went to his eternal home on January 13, 2021, at the age of 83 years of age. He was born on October 28, 1937, in New Orleans, LA as the only son to Rita Barrieleaux Damonte and Lloyd Melvin Damonte Sr., and was preceded in death by his parents and his only sister, Ursula Damonte Braun, and his brother-in-law, Daniel Braun. He lived his entire life in and around the city of New Orleans.

He is survived by his four children. Three daughters; Kenta Damonte, Brenda Damonte Osborne, and Becky Damonte Hopkins, and one son, Lloyd Melvin Damonte, III.
He was the proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.

Lloyd spent his life working for himself in the roofing and construction industry. He loved playing pool, the Saints and the great state of Louisiana for its culture and cuisine. He loved to mine for gems in the North Georgia and North Carolina mountains. He loved to joke and cut up and make people laugh. Lloyd never met a stranger and would help anyone in need, his kindness and generosity will be greatly missed by all.

Private graveside services will be at Greenwood Cemetery located at 5190 Canal Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124, where Lloyd will be laid to rest with both of his parents.
