Linda Nuss Russo

October 20, 1941 ~ September 23, 2023 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Tribute

On Saturday, September 23, 2023, Linda Nuss Russo surrounded by her loving family and holding the hand of her beloved husband, Anthony "Tony" Russo died in her home. She departed through the gates of "Villa Di Linda" and entered the gates of heaven peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

The daughter of the late Herbert and Nora Nuss, Linda was born on October 20, 1941, in New Orleans, LA. She is predeceased in death by her two sons, Vince, and Enrico Russo. She is survived by her daughter Holly Ann Holmberg Javier, her cherished grandchildren Logan Javier and Brooke Javier, Lindsay Russo, and Taylor Russo (London), her great grandchildren Adriana, Vivienne, and Simone Russo, her sister Sharon Ruppert, her nephews, Jonathan Ruppert (Mary), Dante Maraldo (Monique), David Maraldo (Misti), Dr. Vincent Di Leo and niece Gina Di Leo, and her sister -in- law of Katherine Maraldo (Claude), and the late Antoinnette.

After attending East Jefferson High School, Louisiana State University in New Orleans, and Pace University, Linda received her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.

Linda started her career as a flight attendant for American Airlines and later managed tennis camps for aspiring young athletes. Linda was a stay-at-home mom when Holly was young and was active and involved as a class mom and PTA member. After receiving her law degree, she was an assistant district attorney with the Orleans Parish District Attorney's office and became a successful trial attorney in private practice. Linda also went on to obtain her Real Estate License. Linda's preferred "job" was that of a wife, mom, and Nana. She retired with her husband to their home, "Villa Di Linda". Linda and Tony loved to travel and enjoyed numerous trips to Europe. They traveled extensively through Italy visiting their Sicilian family who always welcomed them "home".

The heart of her life was her family. Linda was so proud of her children, especially her only daughter Holly. They were two peas in a pod. Nana was so proud of her grandchildren's accomplishments and loved cheering them on at sporting events. She spent countless hours as a "Nana Uber". Her favorite time of year was the annual family beach trip to Destin where she had all of us under one roof for a week of food, fun in the sand, and laughter. Nana was a constant and loving presence.

As a gourmet cook, Linda collected a vast collection of diverse cookbooks. She enjoyed getting the whole family together enjoying birthday celebrations and holidays with her famous mashed potatoes and oyster patties. She passed her love of cooking onto her "grill masters" Taylor and Logan and her baking buddies, Lindsay, and Brooke.

First and foremost, Linda loved and cherished the love and devotion of her lifelong soulmate, best friend, and love of her life, her husband Tony. Together they dreamed, worked to build a wonderful life together, and shared the love of a lifetime.
