Lilean Silva Schenck

Lilean Silva Schenck passed away peacefully, in the presence of her loving family, on Monday, September 3, 2018. Loving mother of Kym Calogero, (Steve), Mark Schenck, Jr. (Emilie) and Kelley Schenck. Grandmother of Brennan Schenck, Reece Gallo, Matthew Schenck and Eva Rose Schenck. Aunt of Andrea Meyer, Dennis McKinley, Dion McKinley, Tracy McKinley and Billy Silva. Sister of Mary McKinley. She is also survived by a host of great-grand nieces and great-grand nephews. Lilean was predeceased by her parents Ester Montero Silva and Guillermo Silva, her brother William Silva and her grand-daughter Amber Lynn Schenck.
Lilean was born in Santiago, Chile into a horse racing family. She came with her family to the U. S. A. at the age of 3 when her family members were recruited to come as jockeys in the U.S. She inherited her love of racehorses from her family. She was an avid Saints fan and loved the “Who Dat Nation”. She was a devout catholic and displayed a selfless and loving nature. “You are now a Free Bird”!
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, LA. on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 1:30 PM.
