Laurie M Brocato

Laurie Maria Brocato passed away Tuesday Oct 5, 2021 at the age of 64. A native New Orleanian, she attended Cabrini High School before becoming a registered nurse. During her long career as a pediatric nurse, she worked at Charity Hospital, Children's Hospital and helped many young mothers in the Nurse Family Partnership. She loved to travel, especially if there was a concert of one of her many favorite artists. Kind and ever generous, she never ceased to make friends no matter the place. Gifts were always involved, sometimes small and sometimes large. She touched so many people if only for a few minutes. She wanted everyone to feel loved and appreciated. She also had a grand passion for art and for the artists who created. Douglas Bourgeois, Jacqueline Bishop, Keith Perelli, Dale Frieler, Sergio Alvarez and many others. She was their biggest fan and most vocal supporter. Kind, generous and larger than life - her passion to live life to its fullest no matter what created a one of a kind character.

Laurie is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence Brocato and Ozzie Barber Brocato. She is survived by her wife Lisa M Vickers, sister Barbara Lawrence Brocato Duvall and her husband Jimmy Duvall and nephew Brandon Michael Glorioso. She will also be dearly missed by her numerous cousins and the many friends she had collected from all parts of the world over the course of her life.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the animal rescue organization of your choice. She always spoke of buying a large property in the country and adopting as many animals as possible.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
