Karl Frederick “Fred” Fortier, Jr. passed away peacefully on Monday, May 30, 2022, at his home at the age of 74. He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy Hebbler Fortier for over 50 years. Son of the late Karl F. Fortier, Sr., and V.C. Fortier. He was the loving father of Brad Fortier (Kristina), Christopher Fortier (Leslie) and the late Todd Fortier. He was the proud grandfather of his five grandchildren, Alyssa, Kate, Bennett, Madison, and Carter. He was the brother of Virginia F. Chetta (Greg) and the late Muriel F. Batt. He was the son-in-law of the late George P. Hebbler, Sr. and Peggy Anderson Hebbler. He was the brother-in-law of Susan Frisard (Joe), George P. Hebbler, Jr. (Linda), Greg Hebbler (Marion), and the late Ted Hebbler. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, and other family members. Fred was a resident of Lakeview. He graduated from Cabrini Grammar School, St. Aloysius High School, and Southeastern Louisiana University. Fred spent most of his career and retired from Bell South. He and Nancy loved spending time at their farm in Mississippi. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, working on his truck and most of all spending time with family. The family wishes to thank his caregivers for their loving care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, on Friday, June 17, 2022, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM.
