Joyce Breaux McCloskey

Our dear mother, Joyce Breaux McCloskey, sadly passed away on August 1, 2022, at the age of 92. She was a wonderful mother who was always there for us.

Joyce was born to parents Cora and Nessy Breaux on December 16, 1929, in New Orleans, LA. She is survived by her brother, Raymond C Breaux, and her sister, Barbara B Jones. She is also survived by her five children Gay Lynn M Knock (Bill), Eileen M Hurley, Randolph W McCloskey (Carl), Patrick R McCloskey, and Dale M McCloskey; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Joyce married the late Randolph J McCloskey in 1949 and they lived in a wonderful neighborhood, Gentilly Woods, for 39 years before relocating to Slidell, LA.

Joyce graduated from St Mary’s Dominican High School in 1947. She worked for Bell South, where she held various positions, retiring in 1991.

Joyce was loved by all who met her. She loved watching sports on TV … ANY Sports. She especially loved the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. She enjoyed working out at Cross Gates Gym in Slidell, talking sports with employees and visiting with other patrons.
