Josephine S. Held

Josephine S. Held passed away peacefully with her two sons by her side at her residence at the age of 94, on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Josephine was born in Chicago, Illinois on Friday, April 9, 1926, to the late Angelo and Margaret Sciortino.

Josephine is preceded in death by her husband George Held, Sr. and her two brothers Sam Sciortino and Charles Sciortino.
Josephine was the loving devoted mother and grandmother of her two sons George Held, Jr. (Carolyn) and Howard Held (Carolyn) and one granddaughter Mary Held. She was a lifelong New Orleanian.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Ann’s Catholic Church and Shrine, 3601 Transcontinental Drive Metairie, on Monday, January 18, 2021, starting at 9:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
