John James Hoolahan

John James Hoolahan passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the age of 49. John is survived by his beloved father, John F. Hoolahan and was preceded in death by his loving mother, Shirley N. Hoolahan. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Baton Rouge. John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserve for 21 years. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University. John was a Senior Account Executive at Pure Storage where he took great pride in mentoring his fellow workers. He was a member of the Krewe of Carrollton, Krewe of Tucumcari, Pi Kappa Alpha (LSU), and was on the Interfraternity Council. He was a former member of Endymion and the Irish Channel Marching Club.
A common thread is that John put others before himself. His smile was infectious and was only surpassed by his love of people and making them happy. He had this magical ability to touch everyone in an unforgettable way. His love for all was a gift and their love for him made him a very wealthy man.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Mary’s Assumption Church, 923 Josephine Street (near Constance Street), New Orleans, on Saturday, April 7, 2018, starting at 9:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Father Allan Weinert, C.Ss.R., celebrant. A reception will follow the Mass at the Deutsches Haus, 1023 Ridgewood Drive, Metairie, LA 70001.
