John George Eckert passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Joycelyn Braniff Eckert. Loving father of Mary Lynn Eckert. Beloved companion of Carol Rapp. Son of the late William Ralph Eckert and Lillian Archer Eckert. Brother of Loretta Luketich (Joseph), Kathleen Mipro (Robert), Marilyn Connolly (Louis) and Sheryl Simoneaux (Emile). Favorite uncle to a host of nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, starting at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass in the Chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred or memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
