Janice Aucoin Dugas

Janice Aucoin Dugas passed away at home on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the age of 82. She was a great daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul James Dugas. She leaves behind her 5 children, Joseph James Dugas and his wife, Treisa Wald Dugas, and their children, Wesley James Dugas and Crystal Cordoba and her husband, Marcos Cordoba; Paul James Dugas, Jr. (deceased); Elizabeth (Betsy) Dugas; Sharon Dugas Rose and her husband, Paul Burton Rose, and their children, Paul James Rose and Sara Naomi Rose; and Cynthia Ann Dugas. Sister of Annabel Schexnailder (deceased) and husband, C.U. Schexnailder (deceased); Andrew Aucoin (deceased) and wife, Marlyn Aucoin (deceased); Audrey Lanoux and husband, Paul Lanoux (deceased); and Bernadette Netterville (deceased). Sister-in-law of David Dugas, Jr. (deceased) and wife, Janis Dugas; Raymond Dugas and wife, Janet Dugas; Carl Dugas and wife, Ann Dugas; and Joan Tilley and husband, Lowell Tilley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was a generous soul who never met a stranger. Mrs. Dugas was a mom to every person that she met. She wanted to feed everyone. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

She and dad enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Bar-None Square Dance Club.

Marriage encounter was a pivotal experience in their marriage.

She enjoyed traveling and visited many places including Italy, France, Switzerland, Alaska, Colorado and NY.

She was creative and loved to make things with her hands. She crocheted a blanket for each grandchild.

The Hallmark Movie channel gave her much joy and comfort.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, on Saturday, October 16, 2021, starting at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in the chapel at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001. Due to COVID 19 regulations, please follow the current restrictions and everyone attending is required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing.
