James William Crespo III

James “Jimmy” William Crespo III passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at 1:47 Blue, and “the Gentilly Gang.” Jimmy attended St. James Major Elementary and was a graduate of Brother Martin High School Class of 1974. Jimmy retired as a Sergeant from the New Orleans Police Department with 30 plus years of service. Jimmy was currently p.m., at the age of 64 due to complications from the coronavirus. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, James William Crespo, Jr. and Joan Venezia Crespo. Jimmy was survived by his brother Justin Crespo, numerous cousins, his Brothers and Sisters in Blue, and “the Blue, and “the Gentilly Gang.” Jimmy attended St. James Major Elementary and was a graduate of Brother Martin High School Class of 1974. Jimmy retired as a Sergeant from the New Orleans Police Department with 30 plus years of service. Jimmy was currently Gentilly Gang.” Jimmy attended St. James Major Elementary and was a graduate of Brother Martin High School Class of 1974. Jimmy was currently employed by the U.S. Department of State, Diplomatic Security, UPO, as a Uniformed Protection Officer. Jimmy enjoyed playing sports, fishing, card games, cars, guitars, the Fairgrounds. He loved live music venues and associating with family and friends. Jimmy was an avid music historian and New Orleans history buff. Jimmy was a notorious practical joker and loved to make the people he loved laugh. He will be sorely missed by those that knew him and loved him. There will be a visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, located at 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Friday, March 26, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be a prayer said at the end of visitation, in lieu of a Mass.
