Iris McManus Bergeron

Iris M. Bergeron at the age of 94 entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 3, 2021. She was born on October 21, 1926, to Jacob and Loyola McManus.

She was the loving wife of the late Harold J. Bergeron Sr, mother of late Harold J. Bergeron Jr., and sister of the late Naomi Bird, Lorraine Deykin, Ruth Bush, and John McManus.

She is survived by her son David C. Bergeron (Sue). Grandmother of her one and only Grandson Kevin D. Bergeron (Jennifer) and Great-Grandmother of Nivek and Kobain Bergeron. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

A native of New Orleans LA and resident of Metairie LA for the past 64 yrs. She always enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with her family, and was also a member of St. Christopher Church. Iris also enjoyed having her morning coffee while she worked her daily crossword puzzles. We would like to thank Peristyle Residences staff for the professionalism and care they gave to her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Monday, May 10, 2021, starting at 9:00 A.M. Followed by a Funeral Mass in the Chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans and Vietnam Veterans of America.
