May 10, 1923 ~ February 4, 2018 (age 94) 94 Years Old
Hermine Augusta (Sprich) Hattier passed away February 4, 2018 at the age of 94. She was born May 10, 1923, the oldest of five daughters born to William Herman and Augusta (Schaefer) Sprich. Hermine was the devoted wife of Louis Anthony Hattier, Jr. for 71 years and is survived by her children Diane (Wayne), William “Bill” (Angie) and Lou Anne (Sid). She was preceded in death by her grandson Duane (Jamie) Hattier, and survived by her grandchildren Dayna Croal, Todd Croal (Toni), Brent Barre’ and Kristen Barre’, as well as great-grandchildren Jared Croal, Jourdan Croal, Will Hattier and Sara Hattier. She is also survived by a step-grandson, step- great grandson and step-great great grandchildren. She was a loving mother-in-law and daughter in law, and is survived by her sister Marion, and predeceased in death by her sisters Patsy, Doris, Edna and Janice, leaving behind several nieces and nephews. Throughout her life she was best known as a homemaker and caregiver, and fondly referred to as “Bergs” by family and friends. She possessed a great sense of humor, strong will and was an avid bowler. Her fond and caring memories will remain in all who knew her, including relatives, neighbors, friends (children’s friends) and especially “The Avalons”, who were more like family than friends.
Burial services were private and handled by Greenwood Funeral Home.
Pastor “CJ” of First English Lutheran Church in Metairie presided at the graveside.
We are most thankful for all of God’s guidance throughout her care.
“Love you, Mom”!
