Harry Charles Ray III

Harry Charles Ray, III went to his Heavenly Father, peacefully on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the age of 61. He is survived by his mother, Lloyd Ray Daigre, and stepdad Francis Daigre; his siblings, Catherine, Barbara, Anne, Deborah, Elizabeth, Margie, Ward and Marschelle. Harry is also survived by 29 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Harry Charles Ray, Jr., his grand parents, Margaret Peterson Ray and Harry Charles Ray, Sr. He graduated from Holy Name of Jesus Grammar School. Harry received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army. He loved the city of New Orleans. Throughout his career as a Specialized Carpenter you can see and appreciate his many “Wood” Restorations around uptown New Orleans (Tchoup Yard, F&M Patio Bar and many uptown dwellings). He was a member of Carrollton Boosters. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Special Olympics in honor of Harry, for his brother Ward Ray.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Inurnment will follow at 11:00 am in Greenwood Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.greenwoodfh.com
