Guella “Sis” Karion Dragon, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on March 5,
2024, at the age of 81. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur Alexander Dragon and Guella Karion Catanzaro, brother Arthur Edward Dragon, and aunt May Louise Mulroy. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Jean Culver Dragon. Born on February 11, 1943, Guella graduated from Alcee Fortier High School and St. Mary’s Dominican College and was employed by Travelers Insurance Company. She was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Guella was an ardent supporter of animal rescue
organizations including: The Thoroughbred Retirement Association, Louisiana SPCA, Humane Society of
New Orleans, and American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. An avid reader, she
enjoyed many hours at Milton H. Latter Memorial Library exploring mystery writers, ancient Egyptian
history and everything Hollywood. We would like to thank the staff at The Sanctuary at Passages
Hospice for their loving care. As per Sis’s request, there will be no funeral service. Arrangements made by Greenwood Funeral Home.
