Gloria Fereday Gillen passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Earl Clifford Gillen. Mother of Karen Gillen Wakefield. Grandmother of Todd Charles Wakefield (Sherri), Lee Thomas Wakefield (Staci) and Zachary Gillen Wakefield (Laura). Great-grandmother of Reed Thomas Wakefield, Kate Elizabeth Wakefield, Emily Rose Wakefield and Claire Elizabeth Wakefield. Daughter of the late John Charles Fereday and Emily Josephine Weiss Fereday. Sister of the late Charlotte Fereday Schiber. Great Aunt of Susan Schiber Smith and Stephen Fereday Schiber. Great great aunt of Brooke Emily Smith.
Mrs. Gillen was a graduate of Mount Carmel Academy. She was a longtime resident of Bucktown and a devoted parishioner of St. Louis King of France.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, 1609 Carrollton Ave, Metairie, on Monday, April 8, 2019, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be private.
