Geraldine Rita Domio Angel

Geraldine (Jean) Rita Domino Angel was born August 19, 1928, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the Union of Lanis John Domio, Sr. and Olivia Gay Domio. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church for more than 66 years. She attended Valena C. Jones Elementary School, McDonogh 35 Senior High School, and earned her Cosmetologist Certification at Cal State University in Sacramento, Ca.
She entered into holy matrimony with Alexander G. Angel, Sr. at St. Catherine Catholic Church on December 29, 1948. To that blissful union, there were five children; Alexander, Jr. (Sandra), Pamela, Glen (Daina), Myron, and Sherry.
Jean was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren—each sharing a special place in her heart.
Jean will be reunited with her beloved husband, Alexander Gewrard Angel, Sr., her youngest daughter, Sherry Jean Angel, her mother and father, Lanis and Olivia Domio, siblings, and a host of other family and friends.
Affectionately known as grandmother, Jean dedicated her life to her family and shared her vast wisdom. She enjoyed cherishing fond memories about her life with her parents, siblings, cousins, and friends.
She was spoiled beyond anyone’s imagination and was The Queen of wrapping you around her little finger.
Her most famous quote was don’t get me a present—all I want is your respect (Translated It Meant Do What I Say) and you know Jean loves green.
This is not a funeral—it’s a Celebration. She doesn’t want to see any tears shed for her. Jean waited a long time for God to open the floodgates of Heaven for her. This phenomenal woman is now resting in the bosom of Jesus Christ, smiling down on us. Praise the Lord!
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Maria Goretti Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd., New Orleans, on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00am. Visitation will be from 10:00am until 11:00am. Burial will follow in Greenwood Mausoleum. Condolences may be offered online at www.greenwoodfh.com
