Gerald Tranchant

Gerald Tranchant, known as Jerry, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021, at the age of 84. He was the loving and devoted husband of Faye D. Tranchant for 57 years before she departed this life on April 4, 2020. Father of Susan M. Tranchant and Sharon T. Rousseau. Father-in-law of Dennis L. Rousseau, Jr. and Grandfather of Lexie Rousseau. Brother of Rosemary Knecht and Freida Giroir. Uncle to several nieces and nephews. Jerry will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Jerry served honorably in the United States Army. He worked for the Orleans Levee Board until retirement. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and building anything imaginable. Jerry was a man of devout Catholic faith.

Family and friends are invited to attend Visitation on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Both will be held at the Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
