George “Patrick” Cooke passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the age of 90. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Brown Cooke; a sister, Kerry Cooke Roos (James); and his parents, Ruth Bertel Cooke and George Bond Cooke. Survivors include one niece, Kerianne Roos Ellison; and three nephews, Kim James Roos, Gawain George Roos and Gregory Michael Heuer. Pat was recently predeceased by his longtime sweetheart, Josephine “Vera” Diffort Sierra and is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Sierra.
Patrick was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School. He was a lover of Jazz music and played many instruments. Pat was a member of the Bayou Liberty Jazz Band.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, on Friday, January 26, 2018, starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Hope Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
