I spend this afternoon looking up people I worked with at Provident Mutual many years ago, and this is the George I knew who worked at Provident Mutual. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I was 20 yrs. old and he was about 27. A wonderful guy.

George was an amazing soul I am so thankful to have known. I am grateful for what he gave to all those, like me, who got the chance to share some of his generous intellect, humor and love.

So sorry not to have seen the notice earlier.
The group table at the Bienville Club will never be the same. I trust the crossword puzzles upstairs are to George's taste.
I will truly miss him.

I worked for George for a time while at the Whitney Bank. George was a great boss and an all around great guy. I also enjoyed seeing him on the water or on the Ms. Gulf Coast. George will be missed by all that knew him. I will keep George in my thoughts & prayers.

George was a dear friend, and fellow parishioner at St Catherine of Siena Church. I enjoyed his company for 7 years in our Thursday night Bible Study. He was a faithful Adorer in our Adoration Chapel, and will be sadly missed by his bible study and Adoration family at St Catherine of Siena. God bless and prayers for his family, especially Chris and Jill.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. May you find comfort in your loving memories of him and God's promise at 1 Corinthians 15:26 which says the last enemy, death, will be brought to nothing.

George was my mentor and my friend. His guidance afforded me the skills I needed to have any chance of success in banking. He taught me about financial analysis, how to write a proper memo, and later about to how to best save and invest for my myself and my family's future. He was demanding and quirky but kind and generous. Having dinner with him would often turn into a history lesson, economic analysis, with slices of life added in. It also meant a trip to the dictionary to look up words he used during our conversation whose meaning eluded me. There was also a lot of laughter. George's mannerisms and observations were often comedic, insightful, and just funny. I now have a staff of my own and all of them know about George. I talk about him, quote from him, and teach them the same skills I learned from him. To say I will miss him is an understatement. He took an interest in me at a time when I genuinely needed guidance and direction. Being great is often defined by the little kindnesses people do for others. George was a great man because of that and other things as well.

Merrill: How kind of you to write such a thoughtful message. George thought so well of you and I am so glad you are in touch. If you are able, please share the news of George's passing to others you think would like to know, whom we likely would not know to contact. Many thanks, warmest wishes to your family, and please be in touch if you have time, Elvige
