Gayle Theresa Rosenthal

Gayle T. Rosenthal, age 72, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Ms. Rosenthal was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, grew up in Metairie, Louisiana and lived in Lafayette, Louisiana for the majority of her life.

She was a graduate of Ridgewood Preparatory School in Metairie, Louisiana, attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she was a member of the Tri Sigma sorority, and graduated with her BA in Education from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. A retired teacher and real estate agent, Ms. Rosenthal will be remembered for the wonderful impact she left with her numerous students at Delcambre High School and her co-workers. She will also be loving remembered for her love of family and her close circle of friends, her love of her dear dog Lafitte (Panda), the many foster puppies she cared for, and her beautiful garden.

Predeceased in death by her parents, David M. Rosenthal and Gloria M. Rosenthal; her aunt, Leatrice M. Edie (Howard), and cousin, Thomas H. Edie, Jr.

Survived by her cousin-in-law, Patricia D. Edie; first cousins once removed James C. Edie and Jennifer D. Zajac (Daniel); and first cousins twice removed Ava Edie, Evelyn Zajac, and Aubrey Zajac.

The family will receive family and friends on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at Greenwood Funeral Home. A prayer service and internment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery.
